Violinists Karis Lamb, 18, Kiemel 15, Kolson Lamb, 13 and Caleb Lamb, 10, have all studied violin with Kristine Fink McCreery since they were 4 and 5 years old. The siblings are members of the Tuscaloosa Chamber Strings and Tuscaloosa Youth Orchestra, with Karis serving as concertmaster. Karis is also a member of the Alabama Huxford Symphony Orchestra and was recently selected as the concertmaster of the 2005 Alabama All-State Festival Orchestra.
Kiemel is an accomplished pianist and accompanies her siblings often. The Lamb children have been Community Music School merit award scholarship recipients at the University of Alabama and Kolson was the first recipient of the Gail Avery Memorial Piano Scholarship. Kolson has been a state winner two consecutive years, (2003, 2004) at the AMTA piano competition. Caleb is an avid reader, enjoys classical car restoration and is currently restoring a vintage Volkswagen beetle with his dad. Nashville, Tennessee, with Jimmy Snow. They are also featured in numerous newspaper articles and magazines including Jubilation (Fall/Winter, 2003-04), Alabama Weddings (2004, 2005), Tuscaloosa Christian Family (January, 2004), and Southern Living (April, 2004). The sisters were selected to perform in October 2004 on National Public Radio during a segment of From the Top, a weekly program that showcases young classical musicians. All four are also piano students at the Community Music School with Pam Gordon.
